Glitter glitter glitter

on pinecones
Supplies:
- disposable rubber gloves
- pinecones
- lots of glitter in a big ziploc baggie
- Elmers spray adhesive
Work outside. Protect your kid helpers from the spray adhesive fumes.
Wear the disposable rubber gloves. Spray your pinecone all over with the spray adhesive (downwind and away from people). Have your helper hold the ziploc baggie open. Drop in the sticky pinecone. Let your helper shake it in the glitter. Helper opens the bag. You reach in, give the glittered pinecone a few shakes, then set it out to dry. When it's dry, tie on a scrap of yarn or ribbon for a hanger.

You, your picnic table, your deck or patio, and everything nearby will be covered with glitter when you are done. These ornaments are so pretty and will look fantastic on a colorful christmas tree or wreath.
Next project invoving glitter.... Glitter houses! or putz houses.... little buildings made out of discarded boxes, then painted and glittered. I am getting my free how-tos from
http://www.littleglitterhouses.com , a beautiful and inspiring website. You can also find lots of inspiring houses by searching "putz house" or "glitter house" on
http://www.flickr.com .
Yes, we did this last year too, with pre-made houses from the hobby shop. Those houses are the wrong scale this year. We are trying to come close to "ho" scale, to make a village for the train running around the tree.

It seems to be my job to cut out and assemble the houses.

My kids are claiming the right to paint and glitter them. hmmmmm.... I will have to sneak in a few just for me.
More pictures will be coming, as we get a few done.
