Speaking of workshops....
There are still open spaces for my workshop at Tunnel Mill, near Rochester, Minnesota on June 25, 26, and 27th. On the first day, we will be making chasing tools. On the 2nd and 3rd days, I will teaching chasing and repoussé on silver, with a leaf, flower, or rabbit form. Design choice depends upon skill and experience level of the student. Students with jewelry experience may make their form into a brooch or pin. Students just starting in silver will turn their chased piece into a pendant.
There will be fees to cover the cost of the silver, findings, and consumable supplies. Students will need to bring a pitch bowl and base or small cast iron skillet filled with at least 1 inch of pitch.
Other supplies include
closed toe shoes
eye and ear protection
heat gun
small ball peen hammer or chasing hammer
forging supplies, though some are available at the Mill if you don't have them
To register for the class please call John or Carol Adams at 507-289-4189 or email jc-adams@msn.com
