I have so much to show you!

Thanks so much for the input on the slideshow.  I am going to use the slideshows in my portfolio pages, rather than placing each photo individually onto each webpage.  I think it will be easier to update the collections in photobucket and will look more professional on the portfolio pages.  The only drawback is that they probably load quite slowly for dial-up connections.    For the most part, the portfolio pages are directed toward Design Professionals  (who probably have speedy connections) and to generate interest in private commissions.

For those of you who asked, the butterflies were indeed gorgeous.  They were a private commission that I did about 3 years ago.  L (on blogger), your profile is private, so I can't contact you off the blog.  You can always email me at kassmiles at hotmail.com for more info.  I am teaching 2 chasing & repoussé workshops later this summer, so I will plan to make a few more butterflies while I demonstrate.  But what size?

Now for many photos...

First, here's some images that inspire me, from my yard and garden.
bamboo insp This should help me refine those bamboo joints and add a few leaves.

ivy insp I just love the texture, motion, and gesture of this garden vine.  I can't remember if it's a cucumber or a melon...  In any case, it will manifest in my artwork.

vine leaf insp And a grape leaf.  Again, look at the gesture, the motion of the leaf, like a dancer.

New pieces to sell.  Again, these will go to Main Street Station in Viroqua first.  If you want to buy one sooner, email me here or convo me on Etsy and I'll set up a reserve listing for you.

It's Art that you can display on your Body or your Wall.

Finally, this is a commission that I made for a client who gave it to her husband as a Father's Day gift.  It's a hook that hangs from the ceiling, to display an antique tool.  You're getting the upside down view here, as I did not want to mount it to the ceiling for photography.

dark socks and slacks me again

Clever girl, those big ole leaves make a bangin' necklace. Made me want to wear that hook one and hang Pop-pops on it.

  2. I just adore garden photos. I also really liked your slideshow. It's a great way to display your pieces without having to shuffle from page to page.

  7. Hi!

I'm at a coffee shop in Madison right now, so this is the easiest way to reply.

This week, I'll be in Madison briefly each morning while X has class from 9-10. The MSFAC is really close to the zoo. What time are you scheduled to arrive in the city? I'm thinking that we could possibly meet during the time that X is in class OR she and I could possibly scoot over to the the zoo after class for just a bit. (I have to work that day, so my free time is limited to the morning hours.)

Also, I want to warn you about road construction near the zoo. It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. (Dealing with road construction sometimes makes me want to cry.) If you are assembling at the Randall & Drake St entrance, which is the main entrance, don't be afraid to drive on the graveled roads when you near the zoo. Also, besides watching for signs for the zoo, watch for signs for "Zuzu Cafe" as it is right by the zoo entrance and they seem to have more directional signs for getting to the cafe during the construction than getting to the zoo.

Oh, and obviously, to answer your question ... Yes, the photos are from the Vilas Zoo. I posted about it this morning. (I wrote the post last week and scheduled it to post this morning while I was fast asleep!)

    Talk to you soon.

  9. Hey, I just saw the weather report and it is supposed to be GORGEOUS on Thursday. Are you still coming down to the zoo? I am hearing mid-70s!!!

If so, I'd love to meet up, either before your trip or just pop in on you while you're there.

If I don't hear from you, I may just scoot over to the zoo to see if you are around. :-)
